God Cares About Us

Does God care about you? Absolutely! We read in 1 Peter 5:7 that He does. Many Bible verses reveal various ways the Lord cares for us. Here is a list of things God does for us that show He really cares about us: He comforts us (2 Corinthians 1:3-5) He does not forget about us (Luke 12:6-7) He is always with us (Matthew 28:18-20) Jesus Christ intercedes for us (Romans 8:34) He supplies all of our needs (Philippians 4:19) He is our Shepherd (Genesis 48:15, 16) He is concerned about us (Exodus 4:31) He offers rest for our souls (Matthew 11:28-30) He puts our tears in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) All of the healings recorded in the Bible show us that God cares for the sick. A great promise found in Revelation 21:4 is that one day God shall wipe away all tears from His people's eyes and there shall be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain. Friend, God cared enough about you and me that He sent His only begotten Son into the world to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and offer the gift of eternal life to those who believe in His Son. Don't let Satan deceive you with negative thoughts that God doesn't care about you or has forgotten you. Rather, fill your mind with the truth of how God feels about you. Then place all of your burdens on Him, because He cares for you.

Is God Good? Discover the Answer in the Bible

Have you ever heard someone ask, “If God is so good, why do people get diseases?” That is a tough question to answer. But if we look in His Word, we can find reassurance of His goodness. For instance, the psalmist David says, “For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon you” (Psalm 86:5). David repeatedly wrote in the Psalms that the Lord is good. The prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Nahum all spoke of the goodness of the Lord. In Medicine from God: Scripture Verses to Encourage and Comfort the Sick, I have collected some of the verses written by these Old Testament prophets that remind us that the Lord is good. When bad things happen around us or to us—like sickness—it helps me to remember that God is good. Not only is God good, but His plan for us is, too. In the book Loving God with All Your Mind, Christian author Elizabeth George encourages believers to trust that God’s plan for us is good. And she reminds us that the fires of life help to purify our faith and mold us to be like Christ. Sickness is one of the fires of life that can actually draw us closer to the Lord. Read Isaiah 48:10 and James 1:2-4 to see what the Bible has to say about the testing and refining of our faith in the furnace of affliction, and the good things our suffering produces. Jesus Christ called Himself the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep (John 10:11-16). He, being perfectly good, took our sins upon Himself on the cross of Calvary, so that we who believe might have forgiveness of those sins, and the gift of eternal life. That, to me, is the ultimate display of God’s goodness and love. How have you seen God’s goodness in your life?

Comfort for the Sick Found in Bible Verses

A source of strength and comfort for the sick and those who minister to them, Medicine from God is a treasury of Bible verses that will bring reassurrance of God's love, goodness, and power to heal. Does God love me? Does He care about me? What are my responsibilities to God? Is He able to heal me? God is aware of and understands all of our thoughts, feelings, and pain. When we are looking for answers, what better person is there to turn to for help than the One who created us and knows all things? While reading through the Holy Bible, I recorded the words God used to speak to my heart concerning the questions and emotions I had while suffering with chronic illnesses. You may have many of the same questions. My prayer for you is that as you read Medicine from God, the Lord will speak to you through His Word. And may He answer your questions and bring you comfort and healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Be reminded of God's love for you, His goodness, and great compassion. Learn of His power to heal and of the strength and salvation He offers. Find comfort in the pages of Medicine from God and draw closer to Him.
